Life in Darwin-land

The monkeys have decided that they enjoy Shakespeare -- or, more accurately, Kenneth Branagh's version of Much Ado About Nothing. They call it the "horses taking a bath" movie, in reference to the opening scenes where Don Pedro's men ride up on horses and everyone takes a bath in preparation for the formal meeting. Does this count as high culture at an early age? Can I brag about it at parties?

Babs has just turned two -- a noble age, to be sure, and now she's all grown up. When I was speaking with Noogs about the coming birthday last week, she said, "No! She will not be two. I will be three again, and have a cake and presents and a balloon." Birthday envy, anyone?

Darwin and I watched a stupid movie last night -- so stupid, in fact, that I won't disclose the title here (it was one of those impulse rentals that didn't pan out after all). It contained a preview for a movie entitled "Drunken Jackasses: The Quest". I leave it to your imagination to puzzle out what kind of a quest drunken jackasses would be on in Cabo San Lucas with five friends, four days, three nights, two dwarves, and one virgin. If anyone has any recommendations for "blowing off steam" movies that don't require much mental effort yet do not have previews for "Drunken Jackasses", please pass them along. We hope to have better luck tonight with "Mean Girls".
